pelican-server origin pstore fsck

Check the store’s internal consistency

Synopsis

Check the store for inconsistencies and optionally repair them.

Reports directory entries whose object data is missing, object versions no entry refers to, writes that never completed, and usage counters that have drifted.

Without —repair nothing is modified. With it, unservable entries are removed, orphaned versions are queued for reclamation, and the counters are resynced.

—deep additionally reads every object back and checks it against the checksums recorded when it was written. That is the only way to detect at-rest corruption — a flipped bit in a block file — since every other check reads only the catalog. It costs a full pass over the data.
