pelican object du

Estimate storage usage under one or more federation paths

Synopsis

Report the total size of every collection under the given federation path(s), analogous to the Unix “du” utility.

By default, every collection encountered during the recursive walk is printed with its cumulative byte total (plus the number of objects and nested collections it holds) followed by the argument itself. Use —max-depth to trim the output to a limited number of levels below the argument; —max-depth 0 prints only the argument.

Sizes are always cumulative — every object counts toward every enclosing collection up to the argument. Collections themselves have no intrinsic size, so their totals reflect only the objects they contain.

Unreadable subtrees encountered during the walk are reported to stderr and skipped; the totals still reflect every object that was reachable. If any subtree failed, du exits with a non-zero status.

pelican object du <object> [<object>...] [flags]

Options

--collections-url string URL to use for collection listing, overriding the director's response --count Include object and nested-collection counts alongside each size --help help for du -h, --human-readable Print sizes in a human-readable format (KiB, MiB, GiB, ... using IEC binary units) -j, --json Print results in JSON format --max-depth int Print the total for a collection only if it is at most N levels below an argument. -1 means unlimited. (default -1) -s, --summarize Print only the total for each argument (equivalent to --max-depth 0) -t, --token string Token file to use for authenticated listings

Options inherited from parent commands

--config string config file (default is $HOME/.config/pelican/pelican.yaml) -d, --debug Enable debug log messages -f, --federation string Pelican federation to utilize -L, --log string Specified log output file --version Print the version and exit
